The Knitting Guild of Santa Cruz

Membership in the Guild includes knitters of wildly varying ages and all skill levels from beginner on up; it’s a great bunch of very helpful and positive folks. It’s a good way to get a handle on what knitting activities are going on at any given time in the Santa Cruz area.

Each meeting usually begins with a short presentation, often a “how to” on a particular technique … sometimes information on a particular type of fiber or a designer; then everyone present has the opportunity to share current and especially newly completed projects. It’s always fun to see what other knitters are working on, even when they may not be things I’d choose to make.

Other optional events may include special classes held locally, expeditions and knitting retreats. Membership dues are $24/year, and you’re ! welcome to visit whichever meeting is most convenient for you and check it out to see if this seems like something you’ll enjoy before paying anything.

Where:
NIGHT MEETING is the second Tuesday evening of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the Fireside Room of the Community Church at 411 Roxas Street, in Santa Cruz. (near Morrissey Blvd. exit on Highway 1)

DAY MEETING is the third Thursday morning of each month from 10 am to noon at Holy Cross Church in Santa Cruz. Our meeting room is toward the back of the complex, between the gym and the playing field. As you look at the Holy Cross complex (on High Street), drive as far to the left side of it as the road allows. The driveway to the right that goes behind the old high school building becomes apparent. Once you follow the driveway a little downhill you will enter a large parking area; the gym and the playing field are visible, and our meeting room is between them.
[Note: the one regular exception to above is December, when we all gather at a member's home for a holiday party on the first Wednesday evening of the month.]

Carroll County Sit & Knit

A group of knitters, crocheters, and spinners who live in or near Carroll County Maryland. We meet twice a month alternating between the north end of the county and the suth end of the county.

Where: In Westminster, we meet at Westminster Station. In Eldersburg, we meet at the Panera.

Chic’s with Sticks

We are a kid friendly yarn shop, we have a play structure in the backyard for children and seating for mom to enjoy the sun or come knit by the fire and allow yor kids to watch disney movies with Mackenzie. Coffee and tea available for those that come to visit, deli next door for your eating pleasure. We have a computer for you to look up and print patterns off the web, ravelry.

Where: 2425 B Soquel Dr, Santa Cruz, CA 95065 near the Flea Market
When: We are available everyday. Something is going on here daily. Fridays, we watch movies together and knit… Wednesday is knitting for Hump day…
