Knit and Natter

About a dozen, sometimes more, sometimes less, ladies of all ages and abilities. We have worked together on various charity projects and have been asked to knit some strange things from cup cakes and carrots to roast chickens and strawberries (props for a local production of Oliver). We mainly do our own things, from socks to jumpers and everything in between.

Where: The wool shop at 28 Glengate, Kirriemuir.

When: Thursday afternoons from 2-4 pm

Let’s Knit Crieff

Let’s Knit Crieff is an informal knitting group which meets weekly in an evening. The group is open to all abilities and levels of experience and crochetters and other crafters are welcome too! There is no charge but as it is held in a local cafe it is expected that you purchase teas/coffees/wine etc!

Mandy Moore who runs the group also offers knitting and crochet classes in her arts and crafts gallery, an cnoc, also situated in Crieff High street.

Where: We currently meet at the red squirrel cafe on crieff high street although the organiser is looking for an alternative venue within the town to make group even more accessible!

When: Wednesday evening 5.30-7pm

Kilmarnock Knitters

The Wool Pack is a free monthly social get-together at The Sheep Heid Inn, Edinburgh, for all those who like creating things from wool. We share ideas, techniques, patterns and gossip – it’s a bit like a book group, except it’s all about the woolly stuff! All levels and all varieties of wool-crafting are most welcome. The Royal Knitting Group

We have 19 regulars in our group, plus the occasional extras. Ages range from around early 50s upwards. Knitting ability is from average to very advanced, and we learn lots of things from each other. Lots of charity knitting is done for hospitals, children and overseas. Lovely group of lively minded knitters.

Mothers Of Purl

A knitting group started as part of Lindsay Perth’s artist-in-residence in Red Road, North Glasgow.

A core aim for the group is integration and inclusion, and Mothers Of Purl does this through knitting circles and community events as ways for knitters across Glasgow and beyond to come together and share skills.
